Did You Ever Wonder

Did you ever wonder where the detectors you sold or traded ended up. I have honestly lost track of how many detectors I have owned over the last twenty years. Several times I have seen one of my old detectors show up on various classified adds. I have recognized a nick or blemish and am amazed to think I traded or sold that detector many years ago. At least ten years ago I traded a Minelab Explorer to a fellow who lived 60 miles away. I got a Whites XLT Spectrum and a couple of bucks for this trade. The guy I traded told me the XLT belonged to a fellow from Cleveland named Elton. Small world and that guy was our own "Elton" I bought a beautiful CZ6a from Dan in the early 2000's and I had two 100 silver seasons with that detector. I kept it wrapped up with non stick tape to keep it "like new" and sold it back to Dan a couple of years later. That was the best CZ I have ever owned period and often wonder if it is still "ticking". If it is, someone is very lucky. It is a small world that we belong to and I can honestly say that this forum has some of the best people around. I sure hope I can do another twenty years!

Hi RL.

I've been there too. Bought and sold a lot. There was one Explorer II I sold to a gent a few years back. After a year or so I got the itch to get another one and a Dealer advertised a nice condition used one for sale and I bought it from him. Turned out to be the same one had owned before. One of my very detailed programs was still loaded on it. I was thinking, "Wow, how likely that would happen?".

I've watch a Tesoro Inca I've owned bounce around. Ever so often it shows back up and its easy to recognize, like you stated, buy a little nick in the paint.

We are a small world.

I wish I had My original CZ-3D I bought New even though well used. Best all around CZ-3D I ever owned. Also wish I had My first Etrac that I bought first month they were released. I know people disagree but the first runs were the best IMHO. They were smooth deep and better at unmasking. I have had 5 and the first was the best.
