You have the perfect spot for detecting. Old 1890's house. Visions of Seated, Silver, Indian Head Pennies
and lots of other old goodies.......................Well Not quiet !!! In fact not at all. Reality check !!!!
8 A.M. till 12 P.M. detecting time. Sunday morning.....Hope you don't mind this post..Truth is this happens a lot in detecting..
No Silver no nothing a few coins and not much else. LOL

PS: picture of garge.Old 1890's house torn down Thursday Oct. 4th, permission granted for hunting

I hit two old yards next to each other....one I found a key...from the guys car he used to park right there in the dirt side drive about 15 years ago.... also an old metal toy car...the other yard nothing...my coil was going nuts though....that was the day I decided something was wrong with it for sure.....I think the moral of the story is....we cannot always expect something just cause the area is old...I am going to hit a few yards next year...just need permission first...

HAHAHAHAH LOL I like your "Moral of the story part"...One just never knows. thats two strike outs for me old sidewalk hunt and now this.

spots like that are gambles , you ether hit a good find or waist all your time and come back whith nothing but regret im thinking of going to just such a spot piles of dirt taken from the old part of town , im thinking silver coins but it may be that i will spend all my time loking for the end of the rainbow we will see , or i may go to another spot whear i found silver the other day keep trying elton and if you have not covered all that ground keep in mind that less than 1 sq ft may containg a jar full of merc dimes someone stashed away and have you covered every sq ft yet if not get back out thear pickyourself back off the ground and keep swinging that detector just make shure you turn the detector on so you dont spend 2 hours not finding anything HH

YES SIR !!!! Thank you for the very good reminder.."It's never hunted out"

I would not give up on it just yet. The more trash that you remove, the better your chances are. And after they remove those trash piles, there is no telling whats in them or under them.I can almost smell something good hiding there.
HH...BJ

like my typical hunts last year, errr wait, you got a marble. I got a mason jar almost full of marbles. Some are kool.
Last year was my worst detecting year ever by far. I sure didn't give up, and glad I didn't. This year was going better and lately I been doing better than I have for some years. I'd hold the marble and putt the golf ball.

Tad-nabit:
That hold the marble and put the golf ball sounds like real sound advice LOL

I like the way you pointed out....."I got one marble-You got a half a Mason jar full" HAHAHHAHAH
I guess you showed me hu !!!! Hey can you post a picture of some of those marbles ??? They are very collectable !!!
