Also used it to cover the buttons.

Due to my camera's battery getting fried while charging during a lighting storm, I haven't got to film anything.. I just used the cheap 5 count $6.00 iphone screen protectors... I tried to cover the key pad but it didn't stay on..earthmansurfer said:Gonehunting said:After I took off the plastic protection cover on the screen it helped a lot.. Hey Evan, should have mine next week! Looking forward to some filming as probably you are. Did you notice if glare was a problem with filming the screen?
I ordered one of the Ipad2 screen protectors (the ones that the material is used to protect helicopter blades) and have a nice glare guard spare from my E-Trac. I was thinking of using the glare guard on the screen (duh) and the protector (which doesn't do much in the way of blocking glare) everywhere else.
Anyway, perhaps I'll try the protector alone first and see how it works and if it's not enough I can always put the anti-glare plastic over it, or just cut a piece of the protector off and have it so it's around the anti-glare piece - if that makes sense.

same here, but I couldn't get the protector to stay on the key pad..Crusty said:Yes I cut two pieces.....one to cover the screen and one to cover the button area. I didn't cover the darker area around the screen.

TabWhisperer said:I also have used the Z ipad type protectors. You can usually pick them off that large auction site for about $6. Not necessariy to ipads but looks for various brands they might fit. Bottom line you can get about 9 inch diagonal sheet for use on a few detectors. Then just cut to fit. I usually use a uttility blade. On my Etrac I used the factory protective film for a template. It seems to help in most lighting conditions but isn't perfect. I do think it helps improve the tactile feel of membrane buttons on detectors.
