did the Silver Tot Lot Two step this mornin...

Tried a local tot lot I haven't been to in a while... Started off pretty good with a dollars worth of quarters around the palyground equipment....on the way out of the wood chips along the edge where they have cross ties for a border to the playground I got a huge hit, about three inches down out pops this little silver spoon.... sterling on the back... this was good so I kept scanning around the edges and hit another and another and another and still another ... all small silver spoons with the name Margaret scribed inside the spoon all I can figure is a kid got into moms spoon collection....they were recent drops because they were all just under the wood chips. Moved over to the swing area and hit a quarter a recent drop too because it too was just under the chips..... looked at the date and it's a 63' MORE SILVER!.... not far away under the swings, I hit a silver ring. This is definately the best tot lot hunt I've ever had lol.... I hit another one on the way home and found the lucky token and longhorn and various snaps and buttons. This was my luckiest day hunting in a while.... :detecting:

That is a lot of good things that you found.
Quite a collection of spoons and other silver finds. A good hunt !!

God was looking down upon you today:clapping:. Congrats:clapping:

Actually I do believe God was looking down on me today.... The reason I went to that tot lot was a good friend of mine ( We used to detect alot together) I found out has been dealing with Cancer, they just moved him tpo a hospice today and don't expect him to last much longer.... anyway I hadn't hunted that tot lot with My friend for quite some time and I decided to go there and give it a try this morning , just in kind of a remembrance to my friend Bob, and the times we had hunted that park. Yes... God was looking down on me today....

There are times when things just happen (or seem to). You will now have a wonderful memory or the times you and your friend hunted together, and the time you hunted for the both of you. Your feelings and your memories are your treasure.

yeah, he is 68, and a very private person.... we kind of lost touch with each other the last couple years after he retired.... I had no clue he was going thru treatments until just the other day when I was told they had moved him to the hospice. apparrently he had leasions on his brain that finally took over and made it a non treatable situation..... but you know he had a full life and loved to detect, I was with him when he found his first seated dime.... :)

Jay

Sorry to hear about your friend ..... We have all had so many of our loved ones and friends loose the battle when dealing with Cancer ....It's a NASTY situation ..... You might want to go visit him and show him your finds ....He might enjoy seeing you and remembering the good times before he goes .....Jim

I would but, he doesn't know anyone now ... as the lesions on his brain have taken him over and he's just basically being made comfortable (Easing his pain) until he passes. I wish I'd have found out earlier before he had gotten this bad off, but he's a private person and was his nature not to burden others with his problems. He's being made comfortable in the hospice and that's all anyone could hope for if they were in this condition.
