Did some more digging today...

Went back to the hilltop where the colonial era house sat. I'm digging a lot of big iron, because the man who owns the land would like to have any old tools I find. So of course old tools are steel, hence, big iron. Bet I dug 8 plow points today. I did find him a 3 pound iron... the kind you heat in a fireplace or stove, and then iron clothes. Also found and gave him a nice hand forged hoe head (not nappy headed). My first good find was this old buckle.

A few minutes later I got another good reading and dug this old buckle. I thought it was pretty cool looking, but somewhat fragile. I tried to straighten it out best I could without breaking it worse than it was. Below is another shot of it.

Dug this what looks like a handle to a mirror at 8". Also found a metal comb, another horse reins guide and a shoe buckle but those photo's were blurred for some reason

This is the same black snake that was there the other day, he lives in a log. He was out sunning himself on the side of the hill when I came up on him. I'm blocking his way back to his log. He's patiently waiting for me to move. When I did, he crawled inside his log and curled up. He didn't seem too upset when I touched him, so I got in close and took this picture
