Did Minelab discontinue distributing bulk packages of nylon nuts and bolts ?

All the sites i have been on say discontinued item ? i like to have handy extra hard wear for coils and what ever ,i went to 3 major hard wear stores and all have a very limited chose. Jim

Head to an RC plane hobby store or look one up online. Look for "wing bolts" as that's what they usually call the nylon bolts used for that. Sometimes it's a little hard to find the nuts too, though.

Since I'm using a Whites carbon fiber tall man lower rod on my custom shaft, the Whites coil mount on the rod is not as wide as the Minelab. So I ran up to a home improvement store and in their faucet fixing section I found some rubber or silicon washer/gasket type things. About ten in a pack for a few bucks. Had to drill out the hole in the center of them more. It takes two of these on each side of the rod to make up the wider space of the Minelab coil's mount, so I just glued two pairs of them together. Didn't have to, but it makes it easier to get them on and line everything up for the bolt to go through. Works like a charm.

If your in a bind , I here Some guys just go to Ace hardware and and use the toilet seat, nuts and bolts, I believe there the same size.

toilet seat bolts are generally 3/8", slightly larger than the 1/4" that is stock on the sov coils. any lowes/home depot should carry them.

Thanks guys i went to home depot a 30 mile drive !! the pluming section has more plastic bolts then the reg. bolt and nut isle 1/4 -20 2" go figure  Jim

I've heard of guys using those toilet bolts but they drill out the hole on the coil and rod for it. Don't know I'd want to do that, but I heard in the past some WOT users did this for water hunting so the coil was less likely to flop around.

Right 3/8-16 2" is the standard toilet seat bolt which IMO would not strip as fast or wareout, the tread is more course looking at the coil and shaft it would not be any biggie to drill it out , if i get a 15 WOT or a 12x15 SEF for the Sov i might do that . Jim

The larger diameter bolts are better but I wouldn't do it to a machine still under warranty. Minelab is kinda fussy about modifications and warranty....

I found 1/4" 20 at Lowe's, no problem. They are white, but that don't make any difference to me. They work, that's what matters. Going larger gives you different threads, and that might not be bad, but these fit, and they stay so far too.
