Did I find my first Civil War bullet?

I posted a message earlier this week about finding melted lead at a site and wandering if it definitely meant that I had found a Civil War site.

Well; I found this bullet today at the same site and I was wondering if someone could tell me for sure if I had actually found my first civil war bullet. I have seen several people post theirs before, but I don't recall any of them having a solid base on them. If you do recognize it, can you tell me what kind it is?

I apologize for the picture quality, I am at work and can only take a picture with my cell phone. The close ups don't work that great with the cell.

I am still at work, so I can't get an exact measurement, but it looks like it is close to 7/16" or 13/32" in diameter. .44 cal?

After looking at some Sharps bullets online, it does look like one, but all I found were .52 - .54 calibers.

An uneducated guess of mine will be it's a .44 bullet for an Adams revolver. It's looks closer to that than any of the other bullets in the M-M book. But I cant find my glasses either so dont be mad if it aint. Someone will figure it out...d2

I agree with d2. I my M&M book it looks like number 124 on page 28. A 44 cal bullet for the Adams revolver. Frank

good going, nd. when it comes to bullet i.d., i believe d2 and olddigger are pretty darn good at it. i've yet to see the ol' boys go wrong. that's a seldom seen bullet, too. congrats!
