Did a small Mod to my Vaquero

Got tired of switching back and forth from all metal to disc with the disc dial so I swapped out the pinpoint switch with a on-off toggle switch. They have them at Radio Shack for $2.39 and there the heavy duty type. It fits perfect and takes up no more space inside than the pinpoint button!.Takes about 5 minutes to install just unsolder the 2 wires off the pinpoint button and solder them on the switch.real easy. If you ever have to return the vaquero for service just swap back to the button.

Anyhow works great thought I would share if anyones interested.

thanks for looking

I did essentially the same thing with a SSumax in order to be able to run in all metal without holding the pinpoint button. Works great.

Good job Keith. Is the pinpoint all metal mode the same as the one on the disc dial?

but for the performance increase I'll take the chance.

I have started to use the All metal on the Vaq (Threshold Tone) Boy that goes deep very deep in good sand/Soil, i find this mode blows the super tune mode away depth wise.Must admit there was a post on this forum some time ago that said Pinpoint is not the same as threshold all metal.
I like you can not see any change beetween the 2 x Modes. Was at a Beach Dune Area last weekend in all metal with a very slight Threshold tone hit an old beer can at 26 inches deep.\

take Care
