I am definitely out of my element in the dirt, had to drape myself in blaze orange as it is "youth weekend" for deer hunting. Didn't find any coins or buttons but a good bit of lead and shooting related items. There is a No. 12 shotgun husk which is a Western Record made between 1898 & 1932.

The more interesting finds are two boolits, approx .45cal, no rings, both fired and show rifling. On one as pictured shows a capital "U" stamped in the base. Whether they are CW era I don't know, but almost all the male ihabitants served, and some even did two tours. Some were killed, most so badly wounded that it led to the collapse of this community, the women folk could not care for them and run the farms. So even though there were no battles fought here, the small town was crushed by the CW. I welcome any opinions on the boolits.
