Did a couple of upgrades on one of the old girls.

I took the crystal transducers from the old red headphones and installed them in a new set of Bilsom Viking muffs...works great. Also I added a waterproff connector so that I could change out coils.

Very innovative, I like it.
However you choose connectors which is kind of hard to come by.

Looks good Mel, but I have a couple of concerns there. #1, are the headphones submersible, does not look like it? #2, what are you going to do, when the "waterproof connector" leaks? Better watch that, I've heard BAD things happen with the connectors. Keep us posted either way, GOOD OR BAD, will ya?

The phones are submersible all of the insides have been removed foam etc. and the parts from the red phones installed. As for the connector I have been using them for years with no problem. They are also epoxy filled.

I had several of these laying around and decided to use them they originally came from Garrett.

Those are some great Mods...Like the HeadPhones..A Great Improvement over everything out there. Should be able to hear those little whispers of gold in AM/PP Now!! Thanks for sharing....joe

If you want to be extra careful with your connectors pick up some Shoe Goo at Walmart. it's a thick/clear rubber like glue meant for repairing the soles of shoes and such. Gob it over the connector thickly and let it try. It'll waterproof it for sure. When you need to unplug the coil this glue will peal off easily enough once you get it going with a knife or something.
