Diamond Tester??

Dig

Active member
Hey All! I am thinking about getting a diamond tester and am curious if anyone has any reccomendations or any "Dont go near this one" stories they might like to share. I have been finding a lot of bling lately and though some of it has been easy to tell it's fake right of the bat, I hate having to run to my neighborhood jewlers every time I find something. I notice some of them will identify real colored stones from fake as well. I would be interested to hear everyones thoughts and opinions b4 I try to make a decision. Thanks for your input!

I have a Presidium Duotester. Not as portable as as the DN1, but it can give you an idea of what some of the other stones you may be finding are....

Dig this is the one I use, you may search and find it cheaper online.

I have a Presidium diamond tester. When I bought it I wasn't even aware of Moissanite (sp?). So I then had to buy a tester for that. Do yourself a favor and get a multi-tester because there will be other stones that you will need to test. A diamond tester that doesn't test for moissanite could give you a positive for diamond. Synthetic Moissanite will read positive for diamond. It has to be tested with an instrument that can detect it. Good luck.
