Diamond Ring

New member
Found this diamond ring under a set of chin-up bars at a local elementary on a nice short hunt. Metal is not gold but the 3 stones tested out on diamond scale using a Mizar Diamond Tester. Sometimes the shorter hunts are the best! Needed a decent ring to get out of a 3 month slump. Nice 45 min hunt in 80 deg. weather here in Jax. Summer is coming soon. Thanks, Easy

NICE!!!

Cool! But who sets diamonds in junk jewelry? Maybe your tester needs tested....OR your gold test cheated you.

Nice find. Could the metal be platinum? It should be marked on the inside? Let us know...........and HH, Nancy

Checked for platinum Nancy but did not hold the test. I had the same questions as you all but the diamonds are for real. The Mizar tester went right to the end of the diamond range, plus tested the tester on my wife's diamond ring as a benchmark Very strange. I did not test for silver content since the ring detected in the foil range. My wife used to sell diamonds and said that sometimes the band is silver but in very small quantities. So... if it is a silver/composition ring than it is what it is, as they say. It might be a mixture of gold and silver content also. such are some QVC rings (So says my wife an avid QVC shopper)
Anyway... She was impressed with it and it is a nice ring to wear. By the way my gold test kit is spot on when it comes to distinguishing between the grades. It goes into the diamond/gold/silver display box. The rest I have to downsize to the junker display case. Thanks for the input and thoughtful questions. Swing on !!:detecting:

Thank you for all the info. I wonder if it's a one of a kind, hand made piece of jewelry. It's very pretty and I'm glad the wife likes it. Who wouldn't??? :clapping: Diamonds ARE a girl's best friend. HH, Nancy

Mary thinks it is part of a wedding band set. Maybe.
