Well the story goes dgravedigger (Mark) and myself had to work today, were business partners as well as hunting partners. We are working on a house that was built in the late 1700's and this weekend we were pre painting 1800 feet of trim for the carpenter. We didn't even think we were going to get the chance to dig at all but the weather was so humid our first coat of paint needed a couple hours to dry before the second coat, so it was either watch paint dry or grab our gear and go. That was an easy decision. So off we went to some trails in the woods where we had some luck in the past, we split up down different paths to cover more ground in hopes one of us would find a hot spot, well Mark took the right path because about an hour later my phone rings, it's Mark telling me he thinks he found a cache. I figured he was pulling my leg but I went to check it out, when I got there he was up to his elbows in a very large hole pulling out silver coins. He also found a buffalo nickel, silver Roosevelt dime and a few wheaties. I managed an 1846 large cent (picture included) a shield nickel and an Indian head penny (both to roached to photograph) This was definitely the most exciting day at work we ever had.

That is a fantastic silver find! Thanks for sharing the cache with me and the incentive it gives me to keep on beeping.

Just got thinking where there is one maybe there's another. One's you fill a container you probable fill another, if your into hiding coins for a rainy day.

Hi coin hunter, Yes we have thought about that plus several other possibilities. We will definitely be going back to check that area plus other very large trees in the area, these were found at the base of a very large oak tree.

Nice finds. How deep were they and what did they read. I really like the AT PRO and is considering buying one but I am stuck between an AT PRO and a MXT. Really, really hard to decide.
