It's GREAT!! I searched a old walkway of a old fire tower and ranger station 4 times with the xlt. I knew I was probably going to sell it and I wanted a "test site". walkway is 4' wide and 20' long. I put about 25hrs in searching it. Cleaned it out Right?. went back with cz70pro. 3 wheaties, 2 dimes and a nickle. all at 8 to 9 1/2". But... My xlt could have been bad. I read a post where someone sent their's back a couple of times and it got deep also. I'm still learning the cz. it's a 4 tone with i.d. and has notches to notch out iron, foil, pull tab,. etc. But the little critter is DEEP!!!I dug a buffalo nickle at 10 1/2" and dummy me a potted meat can at a little over 2 feet. I knew i shoulda stopped digging when it was "iffy" (bouncing bet. relic and high coin) and gave a depth ind. of 4". part of the learning curve ha!ha!. I do miss the display on the xlt especially quarters. It's hard to beat the info you get on a XLT. I get a high coin tone and id on all clad. but I have found coins close to trash. it is quick to respond and if i get a id and good tone along with bad stuff like iron or trash i can move the coil just over the good tone, like 2" back and forth in a x and locate the coin. You can search slow or fast too and if it id's good in a small pattern. you can bet your socks it's a coin.
