I purchased two complete years of the American Digger magazine and noticed in all the copies from the Just Dug section and the stories, that the majority of the the detectors mentioned that were used, were the DFX and the Nautilus...Interesting...
 
The DFX came from the factory with pretty weak programs, and can also be complicated to use or master for anyone not taking the time to fully learn it and use it. In the right hands, it can be an excellent detector, capable of running with just about any other "all purpose" detector. Not the best at any one type of detecting, but very good across the board.
