dfx super coil

Hey, I like it!!! I got one for Christmas of 2007, after 6 months of use it started to get unstable. A call to Whites and it was replaced in no time. It seems the first batch had problems. The coil now,so far so good. I use it mainly at the beach here on Long Island. You can cover alot of territory in no time. I'm finding coins and jewelry close to 10-12". At that depth you'll hear something but the detector can't read it accurately. Quarters you can figure out but smaller coins-no. I use mixed mode all the time close to the water and dig mostly everything. The only problem I have is a shallow target always reads 4". If you like to dig deep- it's for you. I hope this helps. HH DON

thanks i plan on using it in the corn and hay fields in eastern mass and was wondering how well it will pick up a dime size target such as a pine tree shilling and if i reads copper and silver if the vdi numbers are in the positive or negative on deep targets well thanks again kent

The VDIs will read the same as the 9.5 coil. When the target is deep the VDIs will waver. Check your sinagraph the bars will be on the right.I max my depth with high AC and DC. PAG at 4, SS at 1. And I love mixed mode (if it's not trashy). But I have light mineralization. If you have it high mineralization i"d recommend the NEW 10"DD. HH DON

I don't have one, but I heard alot of good things about it. IN fact, the new VISION has that as standard coil.

I just got one. Other than the deph reading being a bit off and the targeting takes some time to learn, it works good on my MXT.........
The M6 is another story, It is unstable and gets the same exact depth as the stock coil, in the ground or in the air.
I would not buy one for an M6 but for the MXT its good and I have read that it also works good on the DFX.

Yes the 10" DD coil is great. If you are interested in a comparison I believe there are earlier posts comparing the 10" DD to the Super 12".
