DFX 300???

newbe

New member
I'm new to detecting, and was wondering for yall's 2 cents worth.I currently own a Tesoro Silverumax, but have been looking at the DFX 300(pretty impressive machine). What I wanted to know was is the DFX a user friendly machine;can someone with very little experience use the machine? Thanks for the help

I just got my DFX maybe a month ago, and I love it, my detector before that was a turn on and go Fisher F4. The preset programs the DFX has are very easy to use and to modify as you learn what you like and what you dont like. The presets are pretty mild so that they work right out of the box in the most locations with no problems, so once you start to learn more about the detector you can tweek it for even better performance. The DVD that comes with it has lots of good info also. I personally chose to go with the standard DFX. The 300mm coil is nice and from what I have read will go a little deeper, but I did not have the money to buy a smaller coil to complement it for those times when the big one is just to big. I will just get the DD coil down the road when I can afford it, but that is just my situation. Good Luck with your decision.

edit: you might also want to check out dfxonly, just google it.

The DFX can be used by just about anyone. If you stick to the preset programs, and even just increase Sensitivity and Pre Amp a bit, it will give you good depth. But if you are not shy about getting to know your machine, and trying every possible setting, then it is a monster!!! :jump:It can get you 12" on a large cent and really sneak out coins near junk with other coil selections. The more you know, the better it becomes. I don't know if anyone can really fully understand it. So beginner or pro, it has something to offer. Have had it since they first come out.

Hey thanks guys for your help,I might try calling Kellyco to see what kind of offer they have.thanks again.

I pulled a indian cent a few days ago at 13" next to a poison ivy patch I have hunted to death. Was using a Super 12 on a DFX which is similar to the 300 I am told.
