Went to a local ball park today, talked to the owner of a wrecker service next door to the ball field.he gave me some history on the place. It was an old field, and he talked about in years past adult men's softball was a regular scene on the field. So I started my focus on jewelry.there about 2 hours,no silver, but over $8.00 in clad.working the ball field ,i was gridding the field, and in left field, behind third bast got a 15 on the vdi,I was hunting in the coin and jewelry setting. The target said 5 inches, dug the plug and a couldn't believe it ,when i flipped over the plug a men's gold ring.It was a nice signet, rubbed of the dirt and on the inside said it was 18k.The other find was in center to right field, hit 14 on the vdi, down 4 inches, dug the plug, and almost fell backwards,I thought at first, I was looking at a gold coin, the sun was shinning on it and all I could see was the gold.As I pulled the medallion out,it was a 14 k doubled sided san judas catholic medal, the chain slide said MEX,so I guess it was from mexico. The DFX has been a great machine, headed home with another memory, and two more great finds for my collection.
Thanks for looking

Congratulations Donnie, you are doing very well with that DFX.......:clapping:

A lot of credit to you for the encouragement, and forums you have posted these past two and a half years since i started.Still find myself going back to 2008 and reading about the DC phase, and edit and discrimination.Larry these have spoiled me to the point, that when i go canvassing for old homesites,or doing pr to the city parks and recreation manager, knowing that in my hand i have the answer to lost coins and jewelry, artifacts as well as relics. It has been quite a busy 2 and a half years, and rewarding. My background in corporate management has come in handy in networking the city and businesses for approval to get into otherwise restricted areas.Have never posted my coins, but it has been eyeopening what lies beneath the ground.still waiting for that gold coin, but i guess i can say the story that kellyco is running right now on the DFX is a jewelry magnet makes up for the gold coin and sums up my passion about what i do and delving into the many options i have with the DFX on finding what is out there.
Thanks for your looking and encouragements

No clue what that is a photo of. looks to be sthe same size as a postage stamp. Maybe if AI had a 60" monitor I could see it.

I don't think it gets much better than that a double hit on gold ( how awesome)
I am real happy for you, and I have to say the DFX does love the gold and the sound it make is unique.
I found a nice 8.2 gram men's wedding band while on vacation this past summer using my bosses dfx.
The kids and I joked about how the dfx sounded similar to a fart when it hit on gold. This detector sort of
got me back into metal detecting after being away from it for thirty one years.

You hit on something that is very true,on the DFX the gold tones are distinctable most of the time, sometimes i get fooled, but the fruit of the labor is worth it.Thanks for looking
