Deus, the water hunter.

Cousin modified the Deus to work in water, it was easy enough. Found small gold ring and other things with the first water hunt.

Very cool. Looks like a nice location. Congrats on the ring.

Very well done. The Deus should be a great wading detector, with the antenna mod of course. Congrats on the gold and keep us posted how your water hunting goes with the Deus. HH -Marc

Well done in the 2-5 years that I have used the DFeus you are the first person that I have seen with a under-water gold ring find.:clapping:Jerry.

I'm an avid water hunter and while I have several water detectors for fresh and salt water, I wanted to give the Deus a try based on how it separates targets from iron and how well it hots small gold items especially at the higher frequency. The antenna mod was the most challenging part of the conversion but once you get it so the signal reaches the box, it's a simple change to make when you go into the water. The option for the control box that I used ran me about $60 in total but there are several options for that ranging from $20 on up.

I have found that in fresh water, the only detector that can hot small gold the way the Deus does is the Tesoro Tiger Shark and the Deus has a slight edge on depth. I have not waded into the salt environment due to the time of year and the distance to the shore but plan on it this summer.

I have found three gold chains with the "Water Deus" and while none were notably heavy and hence worth a bunch, they were found in areas which are hunted regularly and showed how sensitive the Deus is to gold. One is posted in an early thread on this forum with details on settings. I also found a ladies wedding band (decent weight) and a couple of gold earrings which again show the sensitivity to gold. I have found a few earring backs on the beach (not in the water) which also impressed me but finding them was a joy :veryangry:

I think as the warmer weather and swimming season gets cranked up, you will see more people in the water with it. I am thinking about trying the upper arm mounted runner's case so that I can glance over and see the target ID but for now the modified gold beach program I use allows me to ID stuff with the tones.

Actually it is my cousin in the water with his own water modified Deus in the picture and he also found the gold ring.
