Deus on gold

My White's M6 has put more gold in my pouch in three years of use than all the detectors I have ever owned! In two years of using the Etrac almost exclusively, I have no gold to show for it.

Since I'm considering a Deus anyway, I'd sure like to read your opinions on how good the Deus is on gold!

Thanks!

Today I'm going gold hunting with the Deus, I'll be using Andy's gold program but with a few changes. The area I'll be hunting has been an outdoor stage for 100+ years. I'll report the outcome.

I bought a Deus to be my tot lot gold machine and while it was very sensitive to gold it wasn't a good tot lot detector. I think it is the lack of a good small coil. I was hunting a tot lot and saw a pull tab about 6-7" away from a slide pole. When I ran my coil over it there was only the sound on the metal pole. My DFX and my AT Pro hit that stuff very good, but then they both have smaller elliptical coils.

I've noticed that same phenomenon while hunting the tot lot near my house - upping reactivity helps with this, but I know there are better-purposed detectors to get close to metal equipment!

I know XP isn't going down that route, but a 5-6 inch coil for the Deus would be insane and an instant must have coil for tot lot hunters.

As far as gold jewlery hunting goes, the Deus in 22 Khz mode does hit small, low conducitive targets very well.

I must have got a dud, it doesn't do 22 kHz?
