Deus is the "go to" detector for me

Had a chance to hit some prime grass at a very public place the other night with the Deus. An hour and a half session got me $4.33 in clad and a nice silver ring. I was looking forward to round two but when I pulled the Deus out I got a "no coil" warning. Somehow the coil ran down ahead of everything else. I thought no biggy I will use a different machine. The other machine was one of my favorites for this kind of hunting. After just a few minutes I can remember thinking, "man I wish I had the Deus". Looks like I better invest in that emergency charger just in case. Does a rapidly flashing coil light signal anything? I noticed it was flashing rapidly when I put it up the night before.

A rapidly flashing coil light means the unit is on. In the past I have switched off the head phones and the control unit and a minute later noticed the head phones were on again, so now I always check the head phones again after several minutes to ensure that the unit is off. This has happened multiple times. Hope this helps.

I too have had the coil run down before the other components. I have since learned to monitor the charge of the coil - I was not doing that and now keep an eye on it.

The coil runs about 15 hours with one charge, plus minus depending from settings. The other components last more than 20 hours.
I usually charge all components after about 5 to 10 hours of search.
Also a second look on the coil after powering off all other components isn't a failure. If the handshake between the coil and the headphones is just lost for a moment in which you power down the unit, the coil may not register the power off signal.
Anyway the best overcome for such situation besides an USB emergency charger would be a second coil.
Best greetings from Germany
