Deteknix wireless headphones

Anyone have info on whether the "shutting off on it's own" issues having been resolved on these headphones? I was thinking of getting them soon. Thanks, Robert

A good question.
Where were you going to buy them?
Have you contacted the dealer about the problems?
I would hesitate buying them somewhere if it was difficult to return them.
What detector are you going to use them on?
If it doesn't run with a continuous threshold and the headphones are cutting out and then reconnecting intermittently , how are you going to tell if they are working or not?

Serious Detecting has them and I am waiting on a response via email. I was going to use them on the T2. Lag time is supposed to be next to nil. I had chatted with a fellow on here a while back and he told me of the problem. Wait and see I guess, before I pull the trigger.

I use the Deteknix headphones on my T2 and other detectors as well,no lag as far as i can tell and certainly dont shut down, bought from the UK official dealer. No problems here, infact they are very good.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here but, have you used them on a detector that runs with a threshold? I have an F75 and unless I was running in all metal I would be unable to tell if the headphones were losing the electronic hand shake intermittently when running in the silent search mode unless I was running on the edge of sensitivity to the point the chatter was creating a type of threshold. Have you had good success on a detector which runs a continuous threshold? Serious detecting told me in an inquiry a couple of months ago that success with a connection has been hit or miss. I have missed twice on machines which run a threshold.

@ sprchng,i have used them on my T2,DFX,Nexus,Crossbow Pulse and my Laser B3 and non of these machines have switched the headphones off or dropped the connection, occasionally when i use my TDK headphones it dropped a signal but that is like about a couple of times over 2.5 years, but with the Deteknixs the answer is No,as and when i use my other machinmes over the coming months then i will update if i notice any problems but thius far that is not the case.

To me the issue is not completely dropping the signal but that the signal comes and goes and without a threshold you don't know whether your getting tones or not. On the etrac/CTX , which are constant threshold unless you specify otherwise , the sound will disappear for maybe 20 or 30 seconds at times and you can miss multiple targets before it reacquires the signal and this is NOT from iron nulling. The T2/F75 only run thresholds in all metal and you didn't state whether you run in disc or AM so that remains unanswered. The DFX I had was so long ago I can't remember if it defaults to a threshold or not. The other detectors you mentioned , I have never run and I'm not familiar with them.

Here is the e-mail I received from the dealer in response to my inquiry as to whether the issue with cutting out had been addressed...from 1/19/16

"Hello xxxx, they are still the same - nothing changed.
Some will deal with the cutting in and out at times - others taken some precautions with cellphones and other interference."

caveat emptor
