Detectors through the years

BILLinOK

New member
When I started metal detecting in the 1970's, I had an old cheapy to mess around with. I then bought a Garrett Ground hog. I used it for many years. I then went on to an Ace Freedom, then to one of the GTA's.
Does any know, starting with the groundhog the oldest to newest of the Garrett detectors....showing the detector and the year it came out?

I've got the list of all Garrett detectors and the years they were in production. Special thanks to Melinda at Garrett's for furnishing the list. Now then, the list is 11 pages long. It is listed by the year that each detector was either new or still in production.
If you will send me an email at bdcrow@valornet.com I will send you the list. I can post it, but I didn't know if I could do that on this forum................Bill

Bill: Our club is in Dallas. A couple of months ago we had our meeting at Garretts. We were shown the very first prototype metal detector that Charles Garrett ever made. It was from the 60's. I don't remenber the exact date.
