Detectors that fill a niche

I don't know if I spelled that correctly but you know what I mean.

Apart from the GMT and the GB2, what other non minelab detectors are there that fill a niche in gold detecting?
I have used a number of different detectors and minelabs, and at the moment it seems that minelab PI's with all their coil and setting combos take care of most things concerning gold detecting.

I have been told that whites MXT is great for propsecting. Also, the Scorpion Gold.

Tesoro's Lobo Super Trac, will find rice grain size nuggets, in very mineralised ground, A very good second detector, or even a first. as you can use it for hunting coins too! I know it doesn't have a meter, but who needs one anyway. Grubstake

Fisher Gold Bug 2 would be the best for tiny gold, but you have to manually ground balance this machine. seeya Neilo

I use a Sovereign GT, I also have a SD2200v2 that I use. I would say that IMHO Minelab Equipment runs circles around White's or Garrett detectors. :detecting:

I know you said other than Minelab but the X70/705 is a great gold finder.
