detectors in 50 years time ,what will they look like ?

targets

Member
have a look into the future and take a chance on what they will have onboard ?
GPR must be on the menu and as silicon will be obsolete by then so a powerfull super computer on board .
3D imaging must be on the menu and chemical analysis of the alloys given on a screen .
neural networks will be onboard and a helmet with a head up display allowing you to see objects in the ground and a propeller on the top of the helmet .and like the old X ray specs advertised in the kids comics years ago
a swingometer will allow you to get the optimum swing speed and correct you if too fast or too slow
:twodetecting:
you can talk to your detector like HAL in the 2001 movie and ask it questions to be sure of the target ....

of course tesoro will have their same range at that time :clapping:

[size=large]i was figuring it would all be remote control from your own living room. or maybe your car. you could even set up a table and coolers and chairs and send it into the field with a digger attachment and camera. wait one. they have that on video games already, don't they? never mind. besides, i can't find the remote again.

Expandable and retractable coil auto adjust for trashy areas hologram. Of the target on the ground before you dig, with heads up display.

You will hunt at your computer using Google Earth with satellite tech. Then send your robot out to retrieve the object once you find it.

Built in cyberware in your brain with nanoprobes to crawl into the dirt, sample the item, map it and show you the item displayed in 3D graphics projected on your optic nerve in full color. Then you deploy recovery bots from your walking stick to dig it up for you and repair the soil and grass perfectly leaving no trace.

All the while grandpa rails at you from his hoverchair about the old days when he had to detect in 10ft of snow using only the sound of beeps to figure out what he was detecting.

when you look at the advances in electronics and software over the last 40 years and forsee what the future holds for the next 50 years it could be pretty mindblowing .
so it would be a brave man to predict what will occur
