Detectors for vets?

jarid

New member
It seems as I recall a post a few months ago where someone was asking for donated detectors to give to vets. I cant find it now if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
Happy Hunting.

If it was say a reputable charity that needed say a few old detectors then yes,but 'Vets' i would have thought would have enough money too buy a brand new detector,i can of course only speak for vets here in the UK but you never in my mind see a poor vet, well i have never seen one anyway.Nothing against vets dont get me wrong but are they that poor across the pond they require 2nd hand detectors ??

Absolutely we have vets homeless and poor here in the states for sure!

I think this forum post is slightly misleading across nations, what i mean by this as here in the UK a 'vet' which is i guess is a abbreviation for 'a veterinary surgeon' but you across the folks use it in the contexts of retired ex service folks,so what i refer too as a vet does not mean the same as in the US,hence the slightly different replies.

Keep in mind that not all military veterans retired from the military branch that they served in. Some simply got out after serving their obligated term of service. Some were wounded or disabled and were unable to continue serving. Many disabled veterans due to their war injuries are unable to work and are living on fixed incomes, so many can not afford to purchase a good metal detector. I believe those are the ones that this person was trying to get the donated metal detectors for.
