Detectorpro Underwater metal detector - first time out

It does look like a fun machine......nice video and congrats on the gold and silver bands.
Looked like one of those green coins that you rubbed the reeded edge on you glove might
have been silver?

Good observation! Most of the coins were 70's and 80's but there was one silver quarter in the mix.

Whoa! :surprised: damn thats fast! Got my attention!...like Gold Nuggets asked..that coin you found at 3:23 and rubbed the edge on your glove to see if it was silver...was it?
I tried to take notes while watching this to formulate some questions, had to go rewind a few times...I like the speed of this machine! It almost appeared as if some shaft whip was going on due to the swing speed? Good Gosh! Now that location is the same jump zone you've hunted quite a bit eh? That gold ring sat me right up...the CZ21 should have got that one...

Listen, I was impressed with that unit in the salt, had my computer volume cranked all the way up on the vid, and watched it again with my eyes closed to see if the tones would work for me in the fresh? Whatcha think? Can a guy distinguish junk/gold/silver signals with the one tone? Would all the various crap in the fresh drive a guy crazy? Do you think its a chainfinder? Man! you were working that flat like a starving stingray!...dont think I've ever seen an underwater vid moving that fast...I need something fast and light and good to at least 20' for freshwater...is this the thing? Holler back please...one of your best vids yet...good job! :beers:

Dude...feed a brother some specs on this unit...underwater depth rating, general battery life, price and availability?
Mud

Hey Mud, the machine is very fast and easy to handle. Yes it is the same spot that I have been hitting but the sand shifts with the current so new targets are exposed all the time.

A gold ring, a wad of foil and a silver dime will sound the same. A piece of iron with knockout by clicking. My theory is "dig it all out" because you never know. I have found class rings from the late 60's- early 70's that read like zinc pennies because they were so big so I pass nothing up. Also I can't tell you how many times I have eyeballed something while digging a high tone target with my Excal; stuff is mixed together.

I think you would have fun in fresh water. The machine is supposed to be rated to 200 feet.

It will hear a chain only if its a good one!! Like the Excal, it won't hear real small chains.

Battery life is real good. Not sure what the specs and price are but go on the Detectorpro forum and ask. I was given the unit to test and I believe they will be available in January-February.

Alright....listen, I went to the DPro website...nothing listed about this thing...I can deal with the single tone on account of the swing speed of this machine..a fellow can just flat out scarf up a mess of metal in short order due to that feature alone...when are these things going to be released for public consumption? I've got to get some tanks and start diving again, man what great vids you put out! :please::please: Thanks!

great video!! what kind of gloves do u use and how long do they last you??

I use Kevlar gloves and they last about one season for me.... always wearing out the left one

The HH wader is different. The Underwater can be used for diving and wading....

I swapped notes with Gary today and he sent me a pdf 2 page flyer on the new machine. It has built in Lithium Ion batteries and comes with a charger. No word on duration, but I would expect battery life is VERY good. It is rated to 100 feet. The headset is made of translucent polycarbonate and looks very strong. It has the typical DetectorPro electronics in one side of the headphones and batteries in the other with three knob controls, volume, sensitivity and discrimination. I would guess it will be priced in line with the range we have seen from DetectorPro in the past, though Gary didn't have a price set at this time. I am very pleased with what I saw and expect to pick one up when they become available.

Oddly it is the Underwater. It is a great looking unit, too!

Your videos make me wish that I still dived. Spent three years in Puerto Rico in the USN and was in the water at every opportunity. Unfortunately I was not into detecting back then. But I do not even know where my qualifications card may be located and the cost of new equipment will keep me out of the water that is more than chest deep. Great video.
