Detector Tip For GTP & GTI Users.......

Both the GTI and GTP Garrett Models have a unique feature called "SCAN TRACK"

Scan Track:
"A unique Garrett feature that automatically adjusts to the operator's scan speed to achieve optimum performance."

To maximize the "SCAN TRAC" feature on the GTI and GTP Series Detectors, I have found that I need to do two things.

1) When swinging the coil back and forth, keep it parallel to the ground at all times, and don't let it tip up at the end of the swing.

2) Maintain the same distance between the ground at all times. This should decrease any falsing you may experience.

3) When swinging the coil, don't stop its movement at the end of the swing, but continue to kinda make a loop into your next swing. This will keep the scan track running a little smother and help optimize the ID features.

Yeah when the GTI's first came out Garrett didn't even advertise that feature or ground tracking. Me and Ben Meyers at W&ET brought it to their attention and told them what a great selling point it would make. The rest is history.

Yeah you can't get sloppy with your scanning and get the best benefit from Scan Track.
