Has anyone flown and taken a detector with them?Probably would have to be a three part take down detector?Do they check your luggage or just your personal bag only?Looks like my compadre would break down OK:happy:Problem is trying to find an island vacation spot that would allow detecting, any ideas?Would appreciate feed back, thank you.cjm

Personally, my plan is to ship mine to my destination (family there).
It seems cheaper than to pay for a checked bag.
As for an island vacation, I'm not sure if you can trust shipping it to the hotel.
As for which islands allow. I wouldn't know where to start.

Maybe I can help. My wife and I fly back and forth to the Philippines every year. I break down my detector. No batteries. In the last 14 years I have never had any problems at the air port. I put it in my check on baggage. I will buy batteries when we get their. Batteries are all over the world. I also put my hand scoop in the bag. Hope this helps... KEN
