Detector Pro Head Hunter PI

Does anyone own and use a HHPI and if so what is your experience with them? I just bought one,my first pulse machine and I can't seem to find anyone who cares to respond.I've posted several times and get very little response. Is it a good machine? How well does it work in freshwater? Any helpful tips? Thanks!

Very good machine... its very deep my hunting partner uses one... eats batteries and not as easy to PP with as some other PI's but overall deep machine...

This is probably one of the best kept secrets out there, a great machine, powerful and deep. Only drawback is you'll only get 6-8 hours of battery time, use the Energizer batteries for best performance and longest life. I pick mine up at Home Depot for $10.49 for a pack of 6. Pinpointing's no problem with the 8 inch but can be tricky with the 11 inch coil. The 8 inch is rock solid stable and can be run with the frequency setting maxed, you may have to turn the frequency down a bit on the 11 inch for it to run stable. On a side note, DetectorPro's customer service is second to none. Check out the DetectorPro Products Forum here for additional info and tips.

Forgot to mention, a PI is best used on fairly clean salt water beaches. Trashy areas and fresh water locations will keep you very busy.

I picked one up too but do not have any time on it yet. I went with the 11 inch coil.

I do have time with a Tesoro Sand Shark. You learn to ID iron with a PI, or at least some of it, by a tell tale double blip. I'm planing to pack it for an April week at a beach. Right now it doesn't look like I'll get a weekend beach trip before then. I am sure looking forward to getting some time with the HHPI.

Do a search in the findmall detector pro forum and in the PI forum and there are discussions on the HHPI.

In learning the Sand Shark, I found that the more I got used to listening for very minor threshold variations, the more I found targets and the deeper I got with it.

Let us know how you do with it!
Cheers,
tvr

Like JMW says it eats batteries, so always carry an extra set. I use the 11' coil & the pin pointing is not bad if you use the rear of the coil or the front , whatever you prefer. Depth is ultra deep, black sand no problem. I use mine in the winter, less trash & looking for old deep targets. Great detector, you can swing it all day. SO ! lots of luck & have fun.

Thanks for the feedback. I was beginning to question my decision as I have said posted several times on several of the different forums with very little response. It sounds like I've got a great detector, just need to put the time in and learn all I can about pulse. Does anyone recommend I get the 8" coil as well? From reading several post it is easier to pin point with and can be run at higher sensitivity levels. Thanks I will share my experinces with you this summer.
