DETECTOR INFORMATION NEEDED (please) :poke:

Rob (IL)

New member
Now that we have the VX3 we are going to need to know which detector you own to answer questions correctly.

It is easy to but the detector owned in your signature. It will save much time not having to ask each time, "Which detector do you own?". It is a waste of time explaining settings you don't have if you have a VX3.

Anyone make the change? ROB

I might as well post this here. Rob was trying to help me to get my signatures to show and I tried editing my sig and pressing submit but it wasn't appearing in the sigs. But, it was appearing when I viewed my profile (at the bottom.) I gave up with Wasting Robs time but just started checking it out again after a break.

So, I just clicked on Forum Settings (under control panel) and then selected yes to ("Add my signature to this message" checked by default: ) I must have turned it off a while ago. Anyway, my sig is now appearing in NEW posts, not my old posts. If anyone is having problems with sigs, check this last setting, worth a try.

Cool, I never thought of that. You weren't wasting my time.

Thanks for the help and great posts Rob. But I think you can know the feeling I had. I was afraid I was forgetting the obvious and doing something "dumb". Having worked IT for years, I knew of the type:

Tech Support: "I need you to right-click on the Open Desktop."

Customer: "Ok."

Tech Support: "Did you get a pop-up menu?"

Customer: "No."

Tech Support: "Ok. Right click again. Do you see a pop-up menu?"

Customer: "No."

Tech Support: "Ok, sir. Can you tell me what you have done up until this point?"

Customer: "Sure, you told me to write 'click' and I wrote 'click'."

(At this point I had to put the caller on hold to tell the rest of the tech support staff what had happened. I couldn't, however, stop from giggling when I got back to the call.)

Tech Support: "Ok, did you type 'click' with the keyboard?"

Customer: "I've done something dumb, right?"
