I am looking for a decent detector for my son, he's 11 and enjoys hunting with me on the salt water beaches. He is using a "Bounty Hunter Land Ranger" not great for the beach and weighs too much for him. Please give me some ideas on a good light weight detector to use on the atlantic coast beaches. Thank You.

The Detector Pro wader with 8" coil might be an option it is light and has an excerlent reputation on the beach. It will also grow with him, only draw back is he might find the phones a little heavy as they contain electronics & batteries.Best of luck hope you find something suitable for him.
