Detector batteries.

Radio shack is going to have 36 pack of AA OR AAA batteries for 7.99 Friday. I bought them at that price last year for my detectors and still have several left. But I will be buying more Friday. Thought I would pass the info on so y'all can rack up on the deal if y'all are close to a radio shack.

Thanks, I'll check out the Shack. I have never had a problem with finding batteries for my AA machines. My problems come in remembering to recharge my Excal and those darn units that require a 9v - the price of which seems to have literally doubled in the last few years.

So I doubly appreciate my detectors that do the AA!

Thanks for that. Great deal but what brand batteries "Radio Shack" brand.

Radio shack brand. They last me about as long as Duracells. The ones I bought last year came in a hard plastic case. I'll probably use the case for fishing.

Costco cells a 40 pack of Duracell alkaline and their own brand (Kirkland) and good prices and they have specials now.

In case anyone is interested, Garbage Freight sell rechargables at a great price. Been using the same ones for close to 3 years now. No problems.

Same here. I bought the lower mA version of the Harbor Freight rechargeables, the ones with the green label for another project that I was working on. One day I had them charged and I decided to try them in the 705. We detect 5 or 6 hours a day and I easily get 3 days of detecting out of them without the battery indicator dropping down even one bar. I recharge them after 3 or 4 days of detecting. They have been going strong for nearly 3 years now and I think only one time I ran them down to where the battery indicator dropped off of full. A while back I was going stop and get the next higher mA version but just never did. Actually there's really no reason to at this point in time. I have a partial 32 pack of Energizers that have been in the back of my vehicle for about 3 years. They have rolled around inside of the pack so much that the printing on the batteries looks as if they rolled down the street or maybe someone pulled them out of a dumpster.

That's good to know about the Radio Shack sale on AA's and AAA's. Also, I have been using some of the Harbor Freight rechargeable AA's that stay charged for a long time. I think that I got the higher mA.

Locally the True-Value hardware has a sale going on AAA & AA Ray-O-Vac's. $3.99 for 24ct packages.

I bought some from radio shack last year in the plastic case and they were pretty good . I use them for everything. All most out . Thanks for letting me know they are on sale. GS

That's the ones I bought. I really like them.

Speaking of Radio Shaft..... I use their lithium 9v battery in my Pro Pointer. I do this for 2 reasons, (1) it lasts me pretty much if not all season, (2) the physical size is slightly larger and fits in the Pro Pointer with less slop and banging around inside the unit.
