I don't think a find at a hunt means much at all as to wether things are planted or not.
Here a number of yrs ago there was a token hunt with tokens planted. A guy I know found a 2 ounce nugget whilst hunting for the tokens. They certainly didn't plant the nugget but they did the tokens.
