Just got my new AT PRO. Went out to a man-made shore to test it out after doing air tests. Was there for 1 1/4 hours. Only found a dime. Any help/tips?

How many targets did you recover? It's possible there wasn't anything there or you simply didn't get the coil over it?

You need to be able to hear what is there. I suggest that you set the detector so nothing is notched out at all and turn the iron audio on so you hear everything. To start with you should be digging a lot of those targets to learn what the detector is telling you. If you already have done this and still did not hear anything, move to another area. If it is a new man made beach where the sand was recently hauled in, there just may not be much there.

Of course it's possible.. that's all there was in that area you were searching and you were doing everything right.

When you go to an area, spend a few minutes looking at where the people are, or think of where you would put your stuff if you were going there to spend the day. People lose money when they are getting in and out of cars, setting their stuff down, picking their stuff up, playing hard like vollyball, or football or something. Are there concession stands or wagons? People drop money when they're at the counter, or before they get to the counter, or sitting on benches or at tables.

If you are there when there are no people, look for signs in the sand of where people were as clues.

You might have been doing everything fine and it was just an unlucky spot.

Thanks everyone. I was hunting at a man-made beach. It was off season so not one person was there and there was no food stands. Thanks for your help/tips everyone and HH.

Could be someone beat you to it :detecting:
