Well ive been out at least 15 to 20 times now. Ive found my share of clad and junk. My best finds arnt all that specticular but its not much more then i expected with the parks here in Fort Wayne being so hard hit. I have found 1 old iron lock that has been under going electroalsis for about a month now. It al least 100yo from what the conservitor i know said. My best find is the 1910 V nickle. Found this guy in about 6 ot 7 inches of sand on the river( mentioned this in an earler post) I guess im expecting to much to quickly. I have asked at some different places about detecting but i never get a responce back from them. I guess i need to pick better time to go to thesepeoples places and ask the parents and not the kids.

Im at a loss for places to go I have the itch for silver and its killing me

The finds will get better. You have to listen to stories that older people tell you to find new spots. This guy I knew told me about a beach spot that was very popular in the 30s and 40s that he drove his milk truck past everyday that was filled with people but now the lake level rose and flooded it out. Today there is 1 little old cabin left to mark the spot. Very choice undetected spot. Helping people find lost items is also a good way to get permission to hunt the property.

Have you hit all the schools, old carnival and fair grounds. Any old drive-in movies tghere or sites where they used to be.

I hit up the old river swiming spot. It has rained and the river is finally down. Once again within 5 minutes i hit wheats I pulled 5 out today. I keep forgeting my waders. I will and plan on going into the water and doing some tecting a bit further out.

Where is the silver and the rings at?????

If that place hasn't been hit before they should be on the bank and in the water. Find out where everybody congregated, where they parked their cars, where they dove in. Is there or was there a rope swing next to the water. Does the the river have much current? If so check the inside curve of the first bend if one is close to the swimming spot or any spot where the river slows down abruptly or hits resistance. The best time to hunt is when the river is as low as it will get.
