Detecting with the 750

I got out after work today. When you consider that I work from 3:30am to 3:30pm 2 hours of detecting with a new detector is pretty amazing. Well to say the least I'm impressed with the 750gtax what a deal I feel I got. POOR BountyHunter are going to be retired after today. The conditions were not the best with it spitting snow and it was 41f outside yes I said spitting snow. I hit up a site that I figured would have been well detected. It is an old swimming beach that hasn't been used since the 40's but has been used as a fishing spot. It on a river about 100yds down stream from a dam. The beach is pretty much gone due to the flooding that has taken place in the years since it was last used. So now its a mix of sand and river washed gravel and the normal river muck. Well I turned on the 750 and tecting I went within 3 minutes I had a wheat in hand and also a big fishing lure (new not an antique) in a stretch of maybe 50 feet I Dug my first V nickel. I also dug 3 more wheat's The date at this point I'm not sure of I'm using the potato cleaning method It should be tomorrow and ill be able to let you all know what years they are and have some picture of what I found. It was a good ebay auction that brought this 750gtax to me. I now a HAPPY Garrett owner.
Oh ya I can't forget the bunch of lead sinkers I found well detecting they make the 750 ring just like its money. LOL I dont throw them in the river because I also fish so they will all be used at some point :)

I still have a major learning curve to over come with this detector.

The 750 is an easy learn. You'll have it whipped in no time. We'll be looking forward to hearing from you.

The potato cleaning method consists of taking your copper coins and shoving them in a spud and leaving them for a day or so. It isn't acidic so it doesn't hurt the coins. Its the action between the starch and the gunk on the copper that makes it work. Give it a try on a copper coin you have found that been the ground. Now mind you it wont work on heavily corroded copper. It really is a very safe to clean those coppers.
