:detecting:What are the best headphones for the money?

I am currently using a set of White's headphones that came with my MXT for both my MXT and my Tesoro Silver, I am looking to upgrade my headphones and would like some suggestions. I have been looking at the Killer B line and the Rat phones line, but I am open to suggestions. I do not want to break the bank on headphones, but I realize the White's just are not cutting it. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I use the Ratphones. Absolute best components used to make them. Soft leather ear pads. I can wear them all day with no discomfort. I had them make mine with the single volume control and had the limiter installed to calm down the ear bashing overload signal. Absolutely the best I have ever used. That being said the
Ratphones
Killer B's
Grey Ghost
Sunray Pro Gold

are all quality headphones. I bought the Rats because after comparing the ingredients I believe the Rats have all the best.

get the rat!..best phones on the planet!

Thanks for everyone's input, I am still trying to decide. I was trying to buy the Ratphones today, but found out the manufacturer is not making them anymore, said he is in "redesign" period and was not sure when he was going to come out with a new line. From dealers I spoke with today, it looks like he has been in a redesign period for the past several months, so I am concerned that there will be a long wait for the Ratphones. That being the case, what would be a comparable headphone to the RatPhone Single Volume? Everyone's input is again appreciated.

The best headphones for you are the ones that sound the best "to you".
Try a few out if you can and listen to what sounds best for your hearing. I use a cheap set of $35 headphones and can hear the electronics in the background gently humming away.
They are over two and a half years old and still going strong. What sounds good to Jim may not sound flash to Bob.
Paying a couple of hundred bucks for headphones just makes the guy selling them all the richer.
What about the Whites Koss phones with volume control?
