:detecting::usaflag: Not Your Every-Day Hunt!! A Seven Ring Day!!

Active member

Mr. Dual Field, Diablo and this Old Hunter hard a red letter day!!

14-15 feet from the water line I got a faint signal barely heard over the EMI from the 8:30 Commuter Train. Several scoops later and I had this dolphin in my sifter!

3 hours later there were 4-10K rings in my bag!! One more hour just to see if #5 might be waiting, but no such luck. Called it a red letter day and headed home!

This is my first 4- gold ring day since the '80s!

If you count the two silver and the one junker I had a 7-ring day!!!

The rings are light, weighing in at .54 Oz Troy/16.8 Grams, but I'll take 'em!!

Awesome. Was there some erosion on your beach or did you just find a gold hole.

"Was there some erosion on your beach or did you just find a gold hole."

This beach, as most of Connecticuts beaches are, is protected by Long Island from all, but the most severe storms.

Normal tides and winter winds move sand around covering and un-covering my favorite hunting grounds.

The total area I found exposed enough to get at these rings was perhaps the size of a basketball court, but irregular in shape.

Between the sand bar and the low tide line there is an area that is almost totally free of sand.

The rocky base is exposed so that I am able to walk around on "rock bottom" as I hunt.

It's hard digging, but the targets aren't very deep without the sand covering.

All these rings came from an area not more than 30' from low tide water's edge.

Thanks for your replies Friends,

CJ
