Good story and finds. You sure have some interesting things to look at out your way. Ron

Do you worry about digging up live ordinance?

Can you tell us a little more about the ship badge and what it was for IE: Was it issued to seamen who were at Sea ,or something entirely different.
Thank you for sharing..If you have time, I will be looking forward to the answer.

Yes I do find live rounds on occasion but nothing too big. I once found a large artillery round, must have been about a 3" projectile but it was live, I reburied it. That was about 18 years ago when I first started detecting, it was an old ghost town in a military training area, now I can not find the old town as I would love to get back there, back then I had no idea what I was doing with a detector. HH, Mike

The relic with the woman's bust on it was IDed as a Ladies sash belt buckle, 1850-1920ish. Here is a picture of what the Nazi badge should look like, not a military issue. It was given in observance of "the day of German navigation" "Navigation is Necessary", 25.2&5.1935, 25 Feb-May 1935, probably given to volunteers that had something to do with the event. HH, Mike
