New member
Does anyone know if detecting on the beaches and water is legal in France. I have read that it is believed to be outside the existing restrictive laws, can anyone confirm this? Your help will be appreciated. I am leaving for Nice on Monday

Thanks for the reply, it was very helpful. We mainly detect just the swimming beaches in the water not with scuba equipment. We go early morning before the swimmers arrive, being in the water you recieve less attention. Our detectors have discrimination. At the moment we are in Sint Martin detecting and have had no problems.
