When I switch from all metal to motion disc I lose my Thresh hold is that normal? Will my ground balance change if I go over some old coal ashes? Thanks! I have no one local to ask.

Yes, the Tiger Shark is a Silent Search Motion Discriminate detector. To check for a change in GB, go to AM Mode and go over the coal ash, you will be able to hear if the the threshold gets louder or goes silent if the Ground changes.
