Hey everybody, well decide to give metal detecting a try and ordered a Quick Draw II and it will be here Monday morning. So what would your recommendations be on operation, tools for digging, headphones.... basically anything. It's going to be a long weekend waiting for this, so i might as will get prepared.... Thanks in advance everybody....:beers:

hi motojoe, welcome. read all of the booklets twice and watch the video/dvd twice, at least. and don't lose or misplace them! it will do you well to read all the posts on here concerning the qd2/pioneer 202 that you can stand. any questions, just ask; plenty of good and talented people on here willing and able to help you out. good luck, and hh,

Welcome to the forum. Get yourself a decent set of headphones (since you will be using them most of the time). Get the kind that covers the ear and has leather cups. They tend to be the most comfortable. If you don't want to wait and order a pair online, go to radio Shack. They have some at reasonable cost for you to start with. As for a digging tool, True Value hardware carries a good digging tool for around $15. I have been using one for months now and am very satisfied. Be sure to shop around and get some good alkaline batteries, so you won't have to rush out and pay full price for them. Last but not least, get some cheap garden gloves so you won't be getting blisters from digging. Then "jump in" and enjoy the fun and post your finds for us to see.

Motojoe, I check out your home town on google earth. Looks like a big high school downtown area and a large sports complex on the North side of town. Should be some good hunting in those spots. Enjoy the Hunt!
