Been doing a lot of evening and night hunts because it's so hot. The light switch is connected to the machine power switch so it only works when the machine is on. I tried several different configurations of the LED's. From reflecting mirrors, one LED, 2 LED's, acrylic light bars.... you name it. You can still see left over glue... None worked better that this configuration. You will need to buy 3mm/.125 diameter LED's, sub mini switch and toggle seal (not shown in the picture) . So under $15 worth of parts and about 2 hours. You need either green, blue or red LED's for night use. Don't use white or it will mess with your eyes. Also I already posted some time back that I cranked my internal threshold up so there is a slight hum. I was going to panel mount the threshold pot for adjustment but the threshold holds very steady without it. So there you have it - an M6 with threshold and lighted display hence the M6pro model. If I was smart enough to add ground grab I would.

[size=large]would seem easier to take a mxt pro and eliminate the prospecting mode. just kidding.
at least you have other worthwhile projects to occupy yourself with in-between hunts.

I would love to see an M6pro from Whites. Set it up like the MXTpro. Tone ID - 1,2,3,4,7 tones. Back lite and ground grab all on the pod. Plus add a threshold knob on the box. Make the trigger pinpoint only. I don't prospect so I don't need the extras of the MXTpro. Besides that coil is too big for my hunting. We also need to be able to choose the coil we want at the time of purchase.

[size=large]i have always thought that the manufactures know what coils customers want. so they sell us a machine with a coil we don't want knowing we'll buy one or more of the others. this isn't just whites. it's all of them. whites did bend some on the 12" coil. customers were given the choice between the 959 or the 12". ya gotta give em that.and they all fit the M6.

That is some nice work Kenny !. . .I imagine you may be getting some requests soon to do those mods for others. "Ground grab" is the one feature that can be replicated easily enough with the existing features on the M6 without modifications so I would think you have indeed created a true "Pro" version of the M6 for all intents and purposes. Impressive . . .
