Detecting in west part of Virginia

I will be visiting family in June in the western part of Virginia close to Tennesee and wondered if anyone who hunts out that way could tell me if my Compadre with preset ground balance would work out there. I plan to bring my eldorado umax or bandido umax as well. It should be a fun time.

Don't know but I do wish I was going with Ya sounds like some serious digging is about to happen LOL

look up a soil sury for the county you plan on going to they will tell you everything about the teraine and soil , then you can make a chice, the compadre will still get at least 3 " in black sand if you turn back the disc and swing slowr

There are high concentrations of minerals in that area.what you want to do is make sure you have the smallest possible coil also with you.The best would be a 5.75 DD if you have one.Expect the harsh ground conditions. The eldo or bandido will hopefully get you a good ground balance.Stay away from concentric coils in mineral type ground.Very small DD coils have a very small footprint signal cutting into the ground, this makes them the best choice.
