Detecting in Asheville,NC

Just some information please. We are staying in Asheville, NC and were wondering where it is ok to detect. I know the usual,National parks,National historic sites etc. are out,but how about schools and local parks,beaches,etc.? Any info that would keep us out of jail would be appreciated ;>) Thanks
 
Family in Statesville and Jacksonville as well!! Laws different there, I know in Statesville your not allowed to hunt anywhere in the city!!
