Well had a good hunt this last week. I hunted a older camp ground with no marked swim area and came up with 3 golds and a ss band.
The one gold with the ruby is probably from the 30's or 40's its been there so long the gold has a Rosie color to it from the iron in the water.
The ruby is scratched up really bad from washing around all the years in the iron ore sand and gravel. All rings were found in what would have been 6 foot under water and any where form 6" deep to 9" deep. The gold ring on the top left is the fatest thickest ladies gold ring to date it weighs in at almost 8gr. I would love to find a few more of those. To top it off the stones are real in all the rings.
One thing about old rings is the stones are almost always real. Hopefully i can get out a few more times before it rains and my little honey holes are covered up. Its a lot easier to hunt these areas with no water verses using divegear or a snorkel and mask. There are a whole lot of these things to dig i bet i dug around 100 of them to find the gold i found not to mention all the lead weights that filled half of a large Folgers coffee can. I guess one day i should post all the junk and coins i find as well.
Good luck to all & HH
