detecting for gold

homerule

Member
hello to all,
i'm hoping to go metal detecting with a sovereign XS-2 in a gold mine river next week. would anyone have any advise, or tips that
would be handy?
thanks
john

Run it in all metal because any discrimination will knock out the small stuff. If you just can't stand digging all the trash then try running it with the disc knobs set at the least discrimination you can.

thats good advice considering i was going to try my luck at it today. thanx for posting this homerule. i was going to try and hit some smaller creeks i know of along the american river..i have gold panned it before with sucess. so keep your fingers crossed for me will ya?
