go factory when you first start out,and if it runs allright ,then kick up gain as high as you can and still be stable!

Read the manual a lot. I have read it about 6 times and I still refer to it. It's not great but It helps. I just started writing down the ID # value before I dig. Then I record what I dug up. I make a note on each page what I have the Sens and Disc set at too. Don't ignore the Confidence bar graph. If the ID # is in the 90's it is usually a steel bottle cap. Yeah I dig a lot of em.
