Detecting Cabo

Hola from Cabo,

OK, Figured I would give you all a quick report from Cabo San Lucas.

Detecting SUCKS here.

First, there is no swimming on Pacific side. Few people even use the beach to sunbath. Found a few coins on the beach outside our resort but not much else.

I hit a small beach on the swimming side yesterday morning. Did manage a silver bracelet abd silver ring. But I really had to work through all the junk. The Mexican coins null out on the Excalibur so had to did everything to be sre not to miss anything. Now I know what a PI hunter feels like. I believe the coins are hard to detect because they are made of two metals.

Went to main beach this morning and again, only a few coins.

Theories on lack of may finds.

1) sand here is very course. This allow items to sink fast.
2) wave action is constant and strong.
3) NO long sand into water. From sand to water is 10 foot decline then there is maybe 15 feet of sand under the water before it drops off. Workig water is almost impossible. You are fighting undertow with every wave.
4) Lots of garbage. Since the beaches do not seem to be hunted often, there were bottle caps and pull tabs everywhere. And unless you wanted to ignore mexican coins, yo had to dig it all.

Overall I would say hunting is poor and not enjoyable. If I were to come back, my detector would stay at home.

Well, time for lunch (and drinks) at the pool. I guess if you can not be detecting, being waited on at the pool is a good option.

My prayers to all in the way of the weather. My your house be standing when it is all over and your hunting be better.
